Topcliffe CofE Academy Spiritual Leaders

When children are in Year 5 and 6, they are given the opportunity to lead collective worship based on the Christian value we are studying each  half term. They work in groups and prepare a retelling of the key Bible story, selecting worship music, preparing a prayer, offering a reflection time and an opportunity to interpret the Christian readings in their own personalised way. Alongside this, they are practising and refining the ability to engage with and present to an audience. This provides pupils with a unique opportunity to creatively interpret the stories from the Bible and bring them to life in a modern context for their peers.
